Plus a lot of people waste money/time/energy early on when new titles come out only to find out after the fact that they can' t max the title. Ie: I thought I could get Survivor when it first came out on my old main character only to come to the disturbing realization that it's not possible much after already spending a lot of time and energy on it. A lot of people thought 1000 minutes was max for Drunkard when it first came out.
It wouldn't kill the devs to post all the relevant information about titles on the official website at the same time titles are put into the game. That way at least people stop being misled by the enticement of what they think is a title they will be able to max. There is no valid reason for this tradition of leaving players in the dark about new titles --- which is ample reason for disgruntlement.

Relax.. Breathe... This is a game! Just a game!
How many titles could you max yesterday? How many title can you max today? Same as yesterday. No less. So no ned to cry because ANET offered to us two new titles as a joke. The new titles are about luck. There is no new title about whinning.
Thank you ANET for those 2 new titles.

Just stand in the first place of the second row, or last place of the second row. You know where I mean. You won't loose tickets. Me and my guildies are doing this already for 10+ hours and neither of us lost tickets so far..

If that were the case, then it would imply that the circles have an unequally likely chance of being picked, given that your expected value over time is a loss of tickets for a completely fair game....

Dragon Festival is an annual event.
Guys go read the scribe.... Its states it right there.
http://www.guildwars.com/community/t...ibe-060629.php
Taken from the link above ^
Cantha Prepares for Annual Dragon Festival
Across the lands of Cantha, citizens prepare for the annual Dragon Festival. Merchants fill their storerooms with rice wine and red bean cakes, while townsfolk assemble the games and activities that commemorate the historic events following the Jade Wind. Decorations have already been spotted in Shing Jea Monastery and Kaineng Center.
Conceived by Emperor Hanjai following his father's assassination at the hands of the betrayer Shiro Tagachi, the Dragon Festival is meant to memorialize the survival of the Empire of the Dragon following the Jade Wind. This year holds special significance in light of the new danger threatening our empire. More so than ever, it is important to show the residents of Cantha that their empire can and will survive even the most catastrophic of tragedies.
Residents are already booking passage to Shing Jea Monastery in preparation for the festival. Those allied with the Luxons or Kurzicks will be able to celebrate together without conflict—due, in part, to their united pride in their homeland's survival, as well as the strict "no combat " law the emperor's guards enforce within Canthan towns.
Residents of Tyria should prepare to travel to Cantha, as this is surely an event that will go down in history. There will be games, prizes, food, wine, and plenty of dancing to keep the celebration going for days. At the festival's finale, there is a surprise that no one will want to miss! And while the celebration will last for five days, the special event collector will remain behind for an additional week, allowing celebrants plenty of time to turn in their Jade Wind Orbs for a special Dragon Mask. Plan to be in Shing Jea Monastery for the Dragon Festival, which begins very soon!

That could also just be someone using speech to mimic a real-life Cantha, where the festival actually does occur every year.

Well in general I don't even like titles, hardly if ever notice them on anyone else, but I am for information being up front. But do you still not find the 'charmed' title charming? /shrug.
Survivor - yeah I realized I couldnt get it on my original characters, but I suppose that makes sense. But there's an example where hey I might get the first one just for a little hardcore play, but do I need #2, #3? Eh. That could get mind-numbling boring. Like standing afk on a ticket/game of chance platform indefinately or drinking booze for HOURS.
But just because I focus on game mechanics over titles doesnt make it less important to others (even tho others may not get the importance of storage and character slots to me) and I agree, not only to lack of information but another country's site.
But they've done the same things with us about Factions information (think a Korean site got more details while we were still in the dark about some of the mission types), storage (this material tab is throwing us a bone but no real progess), trade improvements (from last gaile log it seems it hasn't even started), how many character slots we'd get on linking for quite awhile... it's not like this is something new for them to do.
I suppose I already gave up on titles with skills/elites - similiar thing. I went skill crazy with my ele - all elemental, all mesmer, and a LOT from 2ndaries but those that made sense, regular and elite. Am I close to even the first tier title? Nope - I'd need to cap almost (if not) every skill to get the 1st title, and I can't get the second. That taught me an important lesson - not to bother. If something sounds like a possibly interesting challenge/diversion (ie mapping %, survivor), maybe. But if it sounds like nothing but a waste of time and/or money (drinking, gambling, etc) I pass.
If I saw someone with maxed gambling should I be impressed, or more to the point - 'wow, you can really leave your PC and internet going and go AFK for long periods of time and stand on a platform as things happen - go you'? That's where I found this whole thing a let down, I thought titles were going to demonstrate some pve/pvp prowress. Instead I dont see much at all interesting or well-crafted challenges for pve, pvp is more eliteist and used to exclude (and as a comparably casual player not particularly achievable or desirable IMO where early ranks don't get anything), treasure hunters and wisdom seekers reward farmers/chest runners... shrug.
I guess in the end instead of playing with titles I'd rather see them improve a bunch of stuff that effects gameplay/enjoyment of the game first.
Titles in general IMO? No big deal.
But I understand for some it's Kind of a Big Deal.
So I feel your pain. But it's the same way everything else is treated, not just titles.
edit - lmao screenshot arguments, who first, ok for some I guess it really is a big deal :b

heres my snippit screenie, dont argue with me about proof. i can prove it easly. messing with large screenies isnt somethin i wish to deal with, just pm me or add my monks name here to the freinds list, and Loki, please give credit where its due
if we want to go into a detialed arguement about credit...then we could i suppsoe, but most ways of figuring times as to title aquirement and such, just saying that i didnt get my screenie up at the time is a bit cheap, i got a post in and a screenie made up and posted also, my comps pic software slowed me up a bit, which i guess i cannot prove

So where are those math wizards again? I'm kind of curious how many tickets/hours/dollas this would take to accomplish. Perhaps this area will stay after the event is over with...I don't think A.net would be so cruel as to create titles like this for 1/5 the time they are required to max out. I mean that's just evil. I've had my share of rants on the company, but hey...show a little faith .

Survivor is a bit different to me ... it's not that long and doable (and free !! )
it's a quite new challenge, hardcore play like u just said...
but if u start it u wanna max it ... i dont get why some ppl are getting the first (really easy) one .. and then "let their char just die"
i even rerolled a 800k expd char to get it last week ^^especially because i didnt fail, just because of bugged movement, got stuck and laggy, monsters suddenly popped from nowhere.. blablablah u know the end ^^
i play titles like most ppl do, my main char doing all the explorer/bonus etc stuff and just having one nice title on secondary chars ...

Here's a thought... at the end of the event, don't log out? Maybe then you can stay and max the title.
Will get lonely, but hey...
